On Friday night October 25th, the Oldtimers/Maryland Soccer Legends honored the Christos Over-50 team for winning the 2024 USASA National Championship in that age group. The team coached by Eric Bathas was well represented having eleven members of the squad present. The Over-50 tournament was started last year with Christos winning it on the state level, but unfortunately fell to the national champions Bucks County PA on the regional level. They were determined to do better this year and did so winning on the state level by defeating OGFC 1 to 0, then beating the defending champions Bucks County 2 to 0 in the regions and final defeating Greenwich, Connecticut 6 to 0 in the Region I championship game in Horsham, PA on Father's Day. They then traveled to Nashville, Tennessee in August and won the National championship there by beating the home team 5 to 1. This marks the seventh national title achieved by the Christos Soccer Program since they were founded in 1997 by James Haislip.
